Doctor Peter Mugyenyi With Laura Bush |
Remember in 2008, the whole President of America Buzz in Dar es Salaam, My gosh it was chaos.. I will never forget!..There were practically no Matejazz in Posta! We couldn't even stand around Royal Palm Movenpick without men in uniforms staring curiously...It was odd It tell you..ODD!! It was the about the time when Bush visited the Amana District Hospital in Dar, which had opened in 2004 with support from Pepfar and was impressed by President Jakaya Kikwete who went through Aids blood test on live TV along with his wife, Salma, and by adopting an Aids orphan.
Bush then quotes Kikwete's reply to a reporter who asked whether Tanzanians were excited about Barack Obama's election,To which Mister President said For us,the most important thing is, let him be as good a friend of Africa as President Bush has been. Smart Mr.President real smart, though I woulda went for Oh hell yeah, Its about time we had one of our own up there dude !
And he revealed a shocking truth too... (sorry if i ruined it for you, I just had to)
It was Condoleezza Rice, an African-American who later became secretary of state, who inspired me to make Africa "a serious part of my foreign policy," Wow! I just froze.
