Roman Abramovich's Yatch ready at last!!

After many delays, and the budget spiralling by hundreds of millions of pounds, Roman Abramovich is finally poised to get his hands on the world’s largest private yacht — just as another vessel he had ordered also becomes ready.

Workers were last week removing scaffolding from the Eclipse, a 550ft monster being fitted out after first taking to the water for trials last year. Its superstructure is now adorned with a more priapic communications tower than a small warship; radar domes have sprouted everywhere and behind the tower is a mysterious large white bubble that looks like something out of a James Bond film...fascinating....
Even the precise length of the vessel has been kept secret, though it is thought to be about 16ft longer than the previous record holder, the 532ft yacht Dubai, owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum. It has been built by Blohm & Voss — the shipyard in Hamburg that constructed the German battleship Bismarck.

The Eclipse is said to have two helipads, two swimming pools — the larger of which converts into a dance floor when drained — bullet-proof glass, 6ft home cinema screens in every guest cabin and a master cabin where the roof opens to allow Abramovich and his girlfriend Daria Zhukova to sleep under the stars. An anti-paparazzi electronic “shield” will take care of their privacy while on board.With the price tag — reputedly twice its original price of £317m — and construction has run over schedule.

Abramovich is said to have been annoyed that, four years after commissioning the yacht, he was unable to take delivery at Christmas. Donchu jis hate multi-millionaires? Not only had he ordered a million dollar yatch, he was gonnna give it to himself on christmas!!

Now, as the Eclipse nears completion, he is in line for another toy.
On Friday, the website superyatchs.com reported that the Luna, another vessel commissioned by Abramovich, has been undergoing sea trials after outfitting and paint works. The Luna is a mere 377ft, though that still makes it the 19th largest private yacht in the world. (Sippin my $1 milkshake) say what!!!?

Why does Abramovich need it along with the Eclipse? While the Eclipse is the ultimate in length and refinement, Luna is an “exploration yacht” for cruising remote areas and able to go long periods before refuelling and resupplying. Aaaaaahhh..... i get it now...not....
