The Mandela's Got a Reality TV Gig..

O_o
Okay... They promised to be nothing like the Kardashians.. (wipes sweat)

Three of former president Nelson Mandela's grandchildren are to star in a new reality show, members of the family announced on Thursday.
"The show will be about our lives as young, black women ... We're not wearing 'I'm a Mandela' T-shirts," Swati Dlamini, granddaughter of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, told reporters in Johannesburg on Thursday.
Her cousin Dorothy Adjoa Amuah, granddaughter of the late Evelyn Mandela, said: "We are exposing Africa for what it is ... with a new middle class of intellectuals ... contributing to the economy."
Dlamini, Amuah and Swati's older sister Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway said they had grown up in the United States, but returned to South Africa for business and family reasons.
The show would take an unscripted look at the role of the new generation of women as mothers and career women.
"We're definitely not the African Kardashians," Amuah said.

"They clearly have a great love for each other. This may be part storytelling, part reality, except the story we are telling is real ... it's not going to detract from the dignity of Nelson Mandela." said American producer Rick Leed who was in Johannesburg today talking to reporters about the show. He’s the former president of Wind Dancer Production Group (Home Improvement) who created and exec-produced Dr. 90210. “It’s not going to detract from the dignity of Nelson Mandela,” Leed said
Dlamini-Manaway (34) is the mother figure of the show with a 10-year-old son, a two-year-old daughter and a third child due in January.
She is involved in a family business, Mandela Dlamini Associates, and plans to launch a clothing line.
Dlamini (32) is a single mother getting back into the career world with plans to set up a foundation focused on the housing, education and medical sectors.
Amuah (27) is a socialite with a law degree and an MBA from Monaco. She is in the luxury brands market.
Dorothy Adjoa Amuah, Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway, and her younger sister Swati Dlamini, all grew up in the United States, but then returned to South Africa for business and family reasons.

However, fear not - Blind Tiger will also be serving fruity frozen cocktails, cooling classics and other heavenly delights to offset the beer blitz that will be the Kilimanjaro Beer Fest, and provide a more refined drinking experience for those less inclined towards the amber brew! RIP Prof. Wangari Maathai

Africa has lost a great seed, Profesoor Wangari lost her battle to cancer Sunday 25th,9,2011

It is wonderful when you don't have the fear, and a lot of the time I don't ... I focus on what needs to be done instead
Prof. Wangari Maathai delivers the 3rd Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture
Wangari Maathai, the Kenyan environmentalist who started out by paying women a few shillings to plant trees and went on to become the first African woman to win a Nobel Peace Prize, died late on Sunday after battling cancer. She was 71.Mrs. Maathai, one of the most famous and widely respected women on the continent, wore many hats — environmentalist, feminist, politician, anti-corruption campaigner, human rights advocate, protester and head of the Green Belt Movement she founded. She was as comfortable in the gritty streets of Nairobi’s slums or the muddy hillsides of central Kenya as she was hobnobbing with heads of state. In 2004, she won the Nobel Peace Prize, with the Nobel committee citing “her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.” It was a moment of immense pride in Kenya and across Africa.[Source]

Bet you never seen braids that long huh..

The Rescue...

22 minute Vid of the rescue team which on call for MvSPice Islander in Zanzibar
I cried While watching this..no doubt this was a man made accident..
The little things we take fore granted will cost us a thousand lives ...

Naomi's Campbell's birthday gift...

Naomi Campbell at the Flagship Store opening of Pierelli Corso Venezia took place yesterday in Milan, Italy
Guess What 41 year old (she still gooot it) Naomi Campbell got from her Russian Billionaire boyfriend...
No, its not an eye...its an eye designed big ol house on a private island in turkey...
If the world comes to an end, model Naomi Campbell and her nearest and dearest will have no trouble surviving in this 25 roomed eco-home. Designed by and a birthday gift from one of our favorite new architects Luis de Garrido, the glass domed house is completely energy and water self-sufficient and features an amazing indoor landscaped terrace. Everything about this house is a dream: its comfortable microclimate, its constant flow of air, light and heat when necessary, its superior landscaping, and of course the fact that it was built on the Isla Playa de Cleopatra in Turkey (notice the Egyptian theme.)
Aint it beautiful?

25 bedrooms, five lounges, and an indoor landscaped terrace. The property is an exact replica of The Eye of Horus, an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health.
The things I would do in a 25 bed roomed house..Ayayaya....no wonder shit like this don't happen to me..More images below
