There was controversy surrounding the event on why it took place while the country's in mourning,
Now I know Hashim Lundenga gave some silly apology basically saying Yes we did it, but so and so did it too why you looking at us? We the made the beauty queens wear little black handkerchiefs and had a moment of silence O_o ...that was some silly apology tho, no joke... I mean when you do something and you know you're wrong, just say ur sorry. Don't justify your mistake.

I  personally feel like the organizers of Miss Tzee were wrong to proceed with it, through the Zanzibar Ferry incident.Why? If im your sister, and my babies die, and the whole neighborhood comes for the funeral, and we're crying and we're praying and you wake up the next day and go to a wedding? I'll hunt u down, tie u on a tree. The might as well sent those beauty queens with their little black handkerchiefs over to Zanzibar to look for survivors.... The whole of the world is watching us mourning and what do you do? They shoulda at least postponed it. But i don't know how things run, maybe they really had to do it, running late for Miss world, Beauty pageants have been canceled before, for weather, clashing with fasting seasons, national disasters, was it so hard to postpone it for the Zanzibar ferry disaster?... My honest view is that I just think it was a little inconsiderate, It would've been a good look if they paid respect to the event for at least a week do something for Zanzibar and then proceeded. If a disaster like that happened to another country, I doubt their orgs would proceed with a national Beauty pageant immediately, 2-7 days late maybe, but anyway...Let me cut them some slack....they did  make the beauty queens wear little black handkerchiefs
