brother of the late king of pop, kicked off his tribute with ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’, followed by ‘Billie Jean’.During the performance, the Best Male R&B Artist nominee wore Jacko’s trademark fedora and spangled glove as he emulated his signature moves – including the moonwalk.
But the most touching thing was when he sang 'man in the mirror' overcome with emotion towards the end of his tribute, breaking into tears and crumpling to the stage. Hosted by Queen Latifah and opened by Kanye West, who sang new single ‘Power’ in his first performance at a prize-giving bash.
Prince was BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner,
feted with an all-female musical tribute including Patti LaBelle and Alicia Keys,who scooped awards for Female R&B Artist and Best Collaboration for ‘Empire State of Mind’, her song with Jay-Z.
Serena Williams, who won Sportswoman of the Year, LeBron James (Sportsman of the Year) and Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, who weren’t there to receive the Video of the Year gong for Video Phone.Back To Chris Brown, he reappeared on stage after his Jackson tribute to accept the AOL ‘Fandemonium' prize, an award that honours his fans’ online devotion, he said: ‘I let you all down before, but I won't do it again. I promise you.’
