I Wear African fashion show,Los Angeles
African Vibes Magazine's 2010 "I Wear African" fashion show in Los Angeles highlighted some of the newest names in African fashion.
Mekedes Tefera Taye
A design by Mekdes Tefera Taye of Ethiopia, who has participated in fashion shows all over the world.Most of Mekdes Tefera Taye's designs featured exposed backs and strategically-placed straps.
Christiane King
Ivorien Christiane King's pieces at the show were fun, colorful and playful she brings diverse experiences to her designs.
Korto Momolu
He is from Liberia, has quickly become one of the most well-known young African fashion designers in America. his solid well designed garments have been worn by celebrities and sold in American department stores.
Sheila Denanyoh
Ghanaian college student based in Ohio.Her design style was young, fresh and playful.
Arthlene Legair
He is from Dominica, West Indies. He included pieces that were a throw-back to classic African silhouettes and others that clearly reflected a blending of African and Caribbean influences
Maryanne Mokoko and Stephanie Mouapi
From Cameroon , they're designs are eccentric and avant-garde, and as I'm told they're called 'the fashion aesthetics'!
Kahindo Matee
This Congolese who is based in Chicago has created a line that appeals to the progressive African woman who loves the rich colors of African fabrics but requires a modern design style.
Monalisa Okojie
Nigerian jewelry designer showed pieces from her collection. She specializes in using various stones and gold in her jewelry collections.
