This is exactly how my cousins used to tell me about their Actions movies!!

Tanzanian kids love action movies, at least the majority, I really did, I loved Rambo and Schwarzenegger a hell lot more than teletubies! I watched Commando, Die Hard, terminator,Rambo, All that....sometimes I tried to do their Little stunts and failed miserably. Action movies are a hit on the kids, they freeze and eyes glued on the TV like crazy, there is no kid in Tanzania who hasn't watched Rambo and Commando, or at least heard about it, it'd just be strange....

I remember in those years VHS Video players were popular, so every guest that came by...I'd rush to take the Commando Video cassette and play it for them, of course for my own benefit but to act like i did it for them , and most guests were so uncomfortable 'my favorite action movies' but I remain stiff as a rock in front of the TV ignoring their uncomfortableness, not moving an inch, and i watched these movies so much that I could act to them, Infact I could talk like Schwarzenegger !.. I remember when 24 starting being a hit around home, I think I was in A-level you'd see the kids talk about it in school...Action movies, action series....About the time George Bush was coming to Tanzania,there was this rumour around my street that Jack Bauer was among the FBI's who'd Traveled with Bush and that he was hiding not to be seen...Dont know where that came from really...
