The Hot Topic right not is the wave of the younger Politicians or as I like to call em 'New Generation' Politicians, making social networks of good use. Almost everyone is talking about it, From Mikocheni Report To Bora Kijenga Daraja and I thought, Hey..why not put it in my 2 cents, they might be worth a dollar elsewhere..so here goes...
This use of social networks with politics in Tanzania is something new to us, It wasn't practiced before, but now it appeals more to the young people and if young people make the most of the population then Social Media is the way to go for Politicians ..young people today are always on the facebook, twitter and checking the latest news from blogs and not from newspapers...And truth be told there is a large gap between the people and campaigners...we dont know these people, we want to know these people and heck if we're gonna elect em to lead us, we wanna know what they're thinking, breathing, scheming, living, heck if they're gay we wanna Know!
Not only is this wave of a New political ways of doing things reaching out to more people...the joy of knowing that we can reach out to them on social networks and ask questions and they answer is unmeasurable but the Transparency that we always yearn is something that one never thought would witness..on a social network.. All For Tanzanian Politics and Social networks...A Quick View of power generation and transmission chat between Zitto Kabwe and January Makamba both from Different Parties ,January Makamba is currently chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Minerals and Zitto Kabwe chairs the Public Organisations Accounts Committee...Its this kind of Chat That we want to hear from our Politicians, What they're doing about it...
who could imagine 5 years ago that two leaders of opposition would be discussing matters of the like on a Social network. And so let all the development plans be tweeted, and all the failures as well! You can read more on Bora Jenga Daraja
Ps: This might be out of context....Right After The President was re-elected..it was quite sad that we never saw @Kikwete2010 again....Damned and I hadnt had enough tweeting him...or should i say whoever was paid to handle that account..he was damned brilliant..
