Men And Colors
This was from a African Online Magazine Ghubar December Issue and I though it was really beautiful the whole Men in Colors thing, I love colorful clothes and Seeing Men in colors other than Grey, Brown and Black is really refreshing...Nothing too hip and doesn't scream IMARAPPER I feel elegantly colorful is a look men should go for,not too cartoonish though
Though I havent come Across Very many Tzee Men in the streets who are comfortable with expressing this sense of colorful style lol, the wild colored suits, the velvet coat with the tight pants...
Though Congo Men are very Flexible with Fashion and color, uh huh
Very open to colorful clothing and mashing colors. YOu gotta love em. They have an otulandish Fashion Sense, The designer clothes, the colors, fancy hats...Congolese blogger Boingboing Even says that Congolese men would rather starve to death than look cheap. We Congolese have been so obsessed with designer clothes and looking good that over time some of us have prioritized it to the detriment of basic needs sometimes. If you ever thought you spent more than you could afford to support a lifestyle, wait till you meet this guy I read about in a LA Times article who reported earning about $150/month but somehow was able to afford D&G, Gucci and other obscure designer accessories. That same gentleman also owned a fur coat, in an equatorial climate mind you!
I read a Book once called Gentlemen of Bacongo, that delves into the lives ofsapeurs, fantastically well-dressed Congolese men who live in both Kinshasa and Paris. The hook is that, despite living under the weight of catastrophic civil war in the Congo, these men — and only men — attire themselves in exquisite clothes, shoes and accessories.
