Dress Down your Suit

Suits have a been worn as a  more corporate attire for so long and I think its time it gets toned down a bit to give a cool look.
Do's and Donts..

Do wear a suit without a tie. A lounge suit - not double-breasted - with a plain cotton shirt can make men look extremely cool.

Don’t wear gimmicky ties or socks. No matter how funny the Simpsons are, they’re out of place in the workplace.

Do put your best foot forward at all times. Polish your shoes - and make sure your belt matches the colour of your footwear.

Do maintain some formal structure in your outfit. Let the casual note come through different colours, patterns and textures. 

Don’t wear baggy trousers and shirts. They’ll make you look like a blob, rather than a force to be reckoned with. 

Do pay attention to your neckline. Polo neck sweaters are a major part of James Bond's smart-casual wardrobe, recognising the fact that a strong line at the neck usually looks better than bare skin, medallions and loose ties.

Don't wear a tie with jeans or combat trousers. Some men think this is dressing down; but actually you'll look like a stiff-neck desperately trying to look relaxed.

Thumbs up to: clean, pressed clothes; immaculate grooming; fine knits and jerseys; chinos, cords or moleskins, cotton, linen suits, gabardine or wool trousers; high-quality logo-free T-shirts in summer; sports jackets in softer fabrics than your formal suits; crisp cotton good-quality shirts; and loafer-style shoes, half-boots or slip-ons.


Tips!

• With your grey suit why not try taking it out into the evening for some after-work drinks? On your way out swap whatever shirt you were wearing for a black one and lose the tie and belt while you’re at it. And if you weren’t wearing some low cut black shoes then you should now put them on. You can lose the pocket square too.
• A navy suit is one of the easiest to dress down because it goes with pretty much anything. But why not try it with a colourful striped polo shirt in complimenting tones. This way you strike the right note between smart and casual and during the summer months you can take off the jacket and look more like you came from a picnic than the office. Maybe a brown pair of boat shoes would be the best choice to help this look along?
• The Black suit is always the most difficult to transcend but you can’t go wrong with a white v-neck Tee. Try it with some smart and stripped down trainers or some plain black flip flops if it gets too hot… but always ALWAYS wear it with confidence.
• And for any of the summer suits you may have brought in camel, pale blue or white why not try them with a chambray shirt? You’d be surprised how well a light blue one will make even the stuffiest of suits ready for a beer.
