When The Donors Start Pulling Out slowly.. Tanzania

Start living on your own...

Tanzania is bracing for a tough year ahead following a decision by one of its key donors, the Netherlands, to cut its funding for 2011/2012 financial budget two weeks to unveiling the national budget.Netherlands government will reduce its budget support to Tanzania and other countries by 12 per cent despite its commitment last year that aid to Tanzania would not be reduced.

A letter from the Netherlands cabinet to the House of Representatives said bilateral assistance to the ex-partner countries will be phased out with due care.
Minister for European Affairs and International Cooperation, Ben Knapen, said opportunities were identified for pursuing the spearheads of policy and for this purpose a quick scan of each of the 33 current partner countries was carried out, to see where these opportunities presented themselves and where the Netherlands had something to offer.
In short. they're looking at places where their donations *whispers* Dont get stolen!
Take note: During the financial year 2008 the Dutch government offered $97 million while in 2009 Tanzania received $52 million and in 2010 Tanzania received $66 million

Pubs Bar African nationals in Bangalore

Sad to hear from an urban lively city like Bangalore
Pubs and bars in Bangalore are denying entry to nationals from Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania and other African countries citing security reasons, as the common belief is that all ebony-skinned people are 'drug peddlers', 'scamsters' and 'trouble makers'. Bangalore has a sizeable student population  from the African continent - 20-somethings from countries as diverse as Cameroon and Nigeria, Ghana and Tanzania. However, at most of the city's hep clubs, all dark-skinned people are strangely 'Nigerians' and to be avoided, though they don't say it out aloud. At most of these bars and pubs, blacks are generally frowned upon. In most cases, a group of black males, unaccompanied by women gets responses varying from a polite - "sorry, prior reservation needed" to the outright rude - "please leave".
At one of the sports bars, which had the most number of complaints, the head of marketing said it was "security reasons" and not racism that made them discourage blacks from coming. Besides, the bar's other clients were uncomfortable with black-skinned people around, he said.

According to the news last night... Action has been taken on these pubs after an outrage.

Woman Climbs Mount Kilimanjaro..in a wheelchair!

If you're Tanzanian and this is not enough motivation to go climb that mountain, I dont know what is! We have people in wheelchair goin up the mountain and looka Lazy ol me saying ' Kilimanjaro aint going anywhere'  *sighs*

Erica Davis was paralyzed when she conquered the mountain..
It's almost sunset when we [climbed,] so we had a really special moment up there,I thought I couldn't do sports again. Going up there and doing something so incredible like this, it's showing everyone whether they are in chairs or not, that anything is possible. The Challenged Athletes Foundation, which raises funds and awareness for people with disabilities, approached her in 2009 and asked her to join an expedition, which would include numerous people to help her up the mountain.
During her ascent "Through the Roof," Erica's team included 33 porters and three guides, to carry and help on the steepest parts of the mountain. Most of the time, Davis used her hands to propel her chair.
Despite the grueling trek, Davis and her team overcame the emotional and physical challenges, and on January 31, 2010 they reached the top.

I am a proud black woman, and I love my color, i love my body and i love everything about who I am...but to see these women struggle with color like this is really sad. i used to believe, Anyone who insults you or brings you down or makes you feel that you are less, is insecure about them self and is threatened by you and your confidence desperately trying to break it But i had no idea the whole light skin dark skin thing was this serious.. Racism amongst black people themselves.....Cant wait to see the full Documentary of this..

Story of a Killer..

The segment was taken out of a documentary called Louis Theroux: Law and disorder in Johannesburg.
Ive always wanted to see whats in the mind of a Killer and often wondered how they'd be lik in Daily life..

Prose: Life Like The Wind

Katika dimbwi la mawazo.
Ndani ya train masafa ya mbali
Tunasafiri na kupita ka upepo
Nyumba zinarudi nyuma, miti pia,
Kila kitu kinarudi nyuma wakati train linaenda mbele.
Maisha, maisha! Maisha ni Kama upepo
Upepo unaovuma kwa kasi
Unakuja mbele yako kisha kila kitu kinarudishwa nyuma,
Kama ninavyo experience ndani ya hii train.
Upepo, ni mtu wa ajabu sana.
Anaweza kukugusa na kukuacha mwili wa sisimka.
Upepo ni mwanamume asiyetabirika,
Anapenda nipuliza uso wangu kisha Kunipepea nywele.

Wakati wa kurudi haikuwa the same. Mwanamume jua akielekea nyumbani kwake magharibi kaniacha peke yangu
Peke yangu njiani na Mr. Upepo na Mr. Giza. Hawa wanaume wawili wamenikumbatia kisasawa njia mzima mpaka nifikapo nyumbani kumfuata mchumba wangu taa.

Are Tanzanian Women 'seasonal Goldiggers' or are Tanzanian Men 'getting Stupid'

I bet you've gone through this article before  Tanzanian women are seasonal Goldiggers
By just stating this theory that 'Tanzanian women are seasonal goldigggers' a  theory based on a study of 6-3 people, is wrong, why? Journalism has taken a turn for the worst, using print media to devalue the worth of a Tanzanian women by settling down to call them out as golddigers. If I came out and said all Tanzanian men are stupid, it would strike an out roar..why? Maybe coz I live in the city and I dont know all Tanzanian men, I haven't met them all and I haven't sampled a large enough sample size to sum up that conclusion. sure there some gold diggers here and there, does that mean we all are?  NO...all it sums up to is you just met your first bunch of Golddiggers, congratulations! Welcome to the city!

I think, Men love these gold diggers that they go to and leave alone the millions of independent intellectual women who were nonetheless offended and shocked to hear that at the end of the day they are 'golddiggers' because they know they are not and these men are just accustomed to calling women all sorts of names because they are attracted to the wrong type of women and fall into these gold digging traps all the time and cant admit defeat so instead they conclude that its the women who are the problem and not the men that keep going back to these 'Tanzanian Golddiggers'
Men love these type of girls, as the writer starts in the beginning, they look good, always at the hottest parties, they are striking hot. U want to show her off and you don't care if shes a gold digger. The quick response would be to get away from someone who is gold digging you but you don't, instead you stay and you feed this Gold digger and in the end you end up calling Tanzanian women gold diggers. You are looking for excuses to get away from the fact that you got tricked and you were stupid enough to be in a relationship with a person whose been drawing money from you like an ATM machine and all this time you were her little piggy bank you didn't get away. Whose fault is that?

This writer proceeded to use the stories of three men.. Isac, being the first complains that a According to him, on their very first night out, Penina had the audacity to solicit Sh300,000 for her young brother’s school fees. who gives someone money on their first night out? Are u crazy?  After asking for money on the first night out you stayed with her? Why? Does this mean that Tanzanian women are gold diggers, Definitely not! it just means that maybe, just maybe, we have another problem in our hands  that Tanzanian men are getting Stupider!

And Mark Machume says he has seen alot, he is 34 and that all his previous 4 girlfriends were gold diggers
Many men have said this..'all the girls they ended up dating were gold diggers,' that is actually quite explainable, you see, when someone dates people of certain criteria all along their dating experiences, it only means that they are subconsciously attracted to these type of people, and they have to break the chain and look elsewhere or else they will always fall prey to these people, you've dated 3 gold diggers before, you know the signs and still go to number 4...I'm sorry I have nothing to say to you.. Does this mean that Tanzanian women are gold diggers? No, it just means , many 'Tanznian' men fall prey to gold diggers even without their own knowledge.

And Anderson, has been married for 10 years to his wife. Anderson pays for everything in the hours although his wife has a good job, she doesn't even buy the milk. There is a communication problem in this marriage..why? Coz if you cant tell your wife that you want her to buy the milk and you pay for the electricity while you both have good jobs then YOU'RE AN IDIOT!' And she's  taking advantage of your idiocracy to splendour. Men believe that they have to take the masculine role of hunting and the woman doesn't have to do a thing...in this modern world fight for equality it is only fair that if both parties can work then they'll share the cheese that doesn't make you a lesser  man or her a gold digger it just means she's smart enough to take advantage of your battered Ego.

I'm not saying there aren't any gold diggers and I'm not saying there are few, I'm just saying do not sum up a whole population of intelligent, intellectual, sweet, determined , funny Tanzanian women to mere gold diggers. And even if they're are lots of Gold diggers in the city or whereever, that is not a valid reason to name a whole population of these women gold diggers...If these women can build your nation, hold your family.. the least you can do is give them the respect they deserve than using them and abusing them and then calling them out golddiggers just coz you and 1000 other men were stupid enough to fall prey to the city life everyday gold diggers.
